5 LIPSTICKS FOR MEDIUM SKIN TONE !!
I’m a lipstick junkie and I’m happy that our society is accepting bold lip colours these days. Did you know Seventy five percent of women believe that lipstick makes them more confident? Well, that’s definitely true for me. Of course it is a small thing, but for whatever reason, I feel far more ready to conquer the world if my lips are tinted! 😀
Off late a lot of our readers have been asking me to do a post on lipstick shades that suit medium skin tone, so I decided to do a compilation of my own, of at least those lipsticks which I have tried out and know that they look good on medium skin tones.
P.S. I’m a huge MAC fan girl and I feel it’s very important to invest in good brands when it comes to makeup.
MAC – RUBYWOO :
They say when in doubt, wear red ! I say when in doubt, wear ruby woo !! MAC RubyWoo is the queen of all red lipsticks. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best red lipstick in the entire world. It’s a perfect neutral red that suits all skin tones – white, black, brown whatever the skin colour is. I personally love the shade red on me. Having been tried red in different brands, I have always gone back to Mac RubyWoo.
It falls under their “Retro Matte” Collection. You will have to apply the lipstick hard to get the colour onto your lips. This way you can choose the level of shade you want.
This is that one lipstick you must definitely have in your collection. Its hands down my favourite red and I feel it compliments me really well. It’s perfect for a date night with your lover

MAC – FLAT OUT FABULOUS :
If you have been following me on Snapchat , you will know how obsessed I’m with this lip shade. I have been wearing this shade almost everyday now! Like I mentioned above, I have always been a great fan of red lipsticks and trying other bold colours were a huge challenge for me. My first ever pink lipstick was a subtle pink shade from Maybelline ( can’t remember the number). I have a medium skin tone and was always shy to sport fun shades until I came across this gorgeous shade from MAC.
I haven’t seen such a bold bright neon shade that suits all skin types ! It looks so bold that I feel awkward at times, but this shade has surprisingly fetched me compliments from absolute strangers. I prefer going minimal on my makeup when I wear this shade.
It is very matte again and comes under the retro matte collection by MAC. Unlike RubyWoo, the colour deposits in one swipe. But if you want the intensity of the colour to be more, you need to swipe it multiple times.
It stays LONG! Like really long! It stayed on me for more than 7 hours. The only drawback I find is that it stains like crazy!
Perfect for a night out with your girls. This can be a total head turner at parties, so if you are looking for that perfect pink shade, look no more! 😀

MAC – TAUPE :
There are days when I wanna go for work in my Pyjamas (LOL) , especially on Mondays! And then there are days when I feel like dressing up a bit to boost my confidence level. I prefer throwing on a nude shade rather than a bold red or even subtle pink. I found this perfect Nude shade called Taupe from Mac, yet again ( I’m a big Mac fan, as you can see :P) This has to be my most abused lipstick :P.
Since, my upper lip is a bit darker than lower, this shade compliments me really well.
It is my day-to-day lipstick and this is something you can find in my handbag ALWAYS . It is such a subtle yet beautiful nude. You can pair it up with a brown and bold lip liner if you want more definition.
It is matte and long-lasting. It is not drying, and is very flattering to medium skin tone. At times it’s a little tad creamy but no complaints there!
Highly highly recommend if you are looking for that perfect nude shade. I wish I had discovered this sooner. Perfect for day-to-day look.

DIOR ROUGE 941 CANNAGE :
This is my favourite satin finish red lipstick. This lipstick is incredibly plush and apply like a dream.
It’s rich in pigment and you have to be very careful while applying it. I would suggest, you keep it to minimal. Though I’m not a big fan of satin finish, this is one of my favourite red lipsticks.
The texture is very smooth and creamy. It glides on very easily even on dry lips. But you have to scrub your lips if they are too dry as this lipstick will highlight all of it.
It is long-lasting and suits medium skin tone well.
Perfect for weddings. It settles to a shiny-satin finish.
Price is definitely on a higher side. It was gifted by a dear friend and I’m not really sure of the price. But I think it is somewhere between 2.5- 3k.

MAC – MEHR :
The other day I was at MAC to restock my compact powder and they suggested I try this shade called MEHR. According to them it is a dirty blue pink matte finish lipstick. It is the kind of shade that would work on various Indian skin tones. Like Taupe, it’s an everyday go-to colour. It’s a tad bit pinkish shade. I fell in love as soon as I put it on and I had to take that baby home 😛 .
Like any other matte finish, it is long-lasting and lasts for 5-6 hours for me.Though it is matte finish, the texture is creamy and smooth. It does not flake or smudge.
I personally feel it adds a lot of brightness to your face. Perfect for a day- to-night look.

Sadly I couldn’t click a picture wearing it. Will try to post it on our Instagram page sometime though 😀
PRO TIP FROM YOURS TRULY :
This may sound nuts and you may not agree with me, but when you swipe on a lipstick that makes you look great, you feel great, which in turn leads to other positive things happening in your life. In short, lipstick can make your life better.
Hope this post helped and do feel free to share your favourite lipstick shade in the comments below.
