BRIDAL SHOWER at HOME !
Bridal showers may not be a custom in India but are being celebrated widely today ! They need not be just the traditional “gift-giving” party to the bride, but can include so many fun things because with a week or two to the wedding all a bride will need is a little relaxing and fun time with her friends and not just a formal gift giving party. A bridal shower is the responsibility of the friends of the bride and a little planning can go a long way. You need not book fancy restaurants or hire event planners, this post will help you throw an extremely fun bridal shower for the bride-to-be without burning your pockets :p
Before starting it all make sure the date you pick is convenient for the bride !
THE INVITES – Let’s get started off with invites. Invites are very very essential, be it a hard copy or an e-invite ! There are various templates available online you could just print them and send it across to the whole party. And again if you want to go all out and print fancy cards you can always approach invitation card vendors and tell them your choice !
THE DECOR – Decor is the one element in a party that sets the entire mood. Pom-poms are the worlds cutest decor item !! They change the entire look of the scene. You can easily order them online and they are very reasonable too. The next must have party decor are BALLOONSSS !! Once you hang up the balloons and the pom-poms if there are any empty spaces just drape a plain cloth on walls or windows. The other little things that you can have to spice up the place could be a black board with the countdown to the wedding. You could also cut out the initials of the bride and the groom and hang it up !
THE FOOD – OK, so this is my favorite part ! LOL. Keep the food simple and handy. Your main focus should be on the bride having a good time and not about cleaning up later ! So the list of must haves in the food section are cupcakes, fruit skewers, satays, cookies, fruit tart, tiny sandwiches, mocktails with a refill jar ( that way you need not worry about refilling all the empty glasses yourself ) and if you want your party to be participative you can always have a fondue station !!
THE GAMES – Again when it comes to games there are so many of them that you can choose from. The most common game among parties like these is charades (my fav too :)) !! Apart from charades you can play “ABOUT THE BRIDE”, “BRIDE’S MEMORIES (where each one of you have to talk about one fav memory with the bride and she gets to choose the best”, “GUESSING THE GIFTS” and you could even have a timeline with super cute pictures of the bride from when she was a baby till date ! Apart from that there are a lot of game printables online that you could look into ! You can also buy a set of jenga blocks and ask the guests to write their favorite things about the bride and have the bride read them out ! ( If you’ve been following us on instagram or facebook you will know how much we rave about this jenga block idea ! :P)
And don’t forget to add some props to the party which will be not only super attractive but also super-duper fun once you look back at those pictures.
THE FAVORS – Now, you need not go all out and spend a lot of money of favors ( which is what almost every bridal party worries about :P). You could do super simple favors which are totally fun and will be cherished by the guests forever ! You could just wrap a couple of chocolates in small colored cloth with a message from the bride, or give away a nail polish with customized initials of the bride or even soap bars ! All these that I have mentioned are easily available online, you can order them in bulk and save a lot of money !
