Honeymoon Destinations in India !!
Honeymoon is something every newly married couple look forward to. After all that running around and wedding stress , it’s finally time for you to spend some quality time with your spouse and get away from friends and family. Now if you don’t have enough time or money to plan a trip outside India , we have got you covered (Tee-hee). I’m going to talk about top honeymoon destinations in India in today’s post and it includes beaches , sun, tan & hill stations ! And no, I have not included the usual spots like GOA , Shimla, Kodai, Coorg in this list 😉 . Also if you were planning to go to Goa then I have an entire post dedicated just for Goa right here !
ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS :
If sun, sand and lots and lots of sea is on your cards then pack your bags and head out for an adventurous yet romantic trip to Andaman. I have been hearing amazing things about this place and it’s def on my wish list
Must do : Scuba Diving at Havelock Island
Best season to visit : October – May
Darjeeling is the soul of North east and it let’s you enjoy intimacy amidst soulful settings. I have been there and loved everything about this place. If you are considering north-eastern part of India for your honeymoon then this is the place
Must do : Visit Kanchenjunga Mountain and Tiger hill. Try Paragliding & also hop onto the toy train for a tour
Best season : May – June / sept – November
LEH LADAKH :
Ladakh is a fascinating place rich in natural beauty and a perfect place to spend your honeymoon with your better half I have this friend who’s getting married this year end and he is planning a road trip to Leh from Chennai for his honeymoon. He feels it’s going to be more special and let’s them get to know each other better 😉 Ah well , I’m with the idea of a road trip too what about you guys ?
Must Do : Watch the sunrise by the lake, Camp in the mountains and lose yourself

MCLEOD GANJ :
Mcleod ganj is a hill station in Dharamshala and this is one place I have been dying to visit. It’s on a lot of traveler’s bucket list and is definitely on mine as well If you are looking for a quiet , peaceful place with amazing weather for your honeymoon then don’t think twice, just book your tickets to this beautiful place !!
Must Do : Shiva cafe , Tibetan Museum
Best time to visit : Dec-Feb / March June
This place is ideal for all you beach babies 😀 . Exquisite coral Islands, marine life, adventure sports , silvery beaches and amazing seafood – you have it all right here !
Must Do : Water sports, try Seafood.
Best time to visit : Dec- May
This place needs no introduction. Almost every Indian bride wishes to get married here. Now if you can’t have a royal wedding here then why not a royal honeymoon? Udaipur is well-known for its culture and historical sights.. There are so many amazing places to visit in Udaipur and it’s an ideal place for your honeymoon.
Must Do : Don’t miss out the magnificent city palace tour and also some local shopping 😉
Best place to visit : Sept to March
Did I save the best for last ? May be I did 😉 Being a Malayali myself I love visiting Kerala for a vacation every now and then..It feels good to be around the greenery and the amazing food there 😉 Kerala has a wide variety of honeymoon spots for you to choose from, so you will definitely find something that suits your liking.
So if you are looking for a hill station then you have places like Munnar , Vagamon, Ponmudi , Wayanad to choose from. And if you are looking forward to sit back and get tanned a bit then you could visit places like Kovalam, Varkala, Allepey , Bekal.
Kerala is known for it’s backwaters and you just cannot miss the whole experience, so I would suggest you visit places like Allepey, Kumarakom , Kollam and Cochin for this amazing experience.
If seeing wildlife and it’s nature setting is something you’d prefer then you have places like Thekkady and Wayanad.
It’s known as God’s own country for a reason right ?
