Honeymoon Diaries : Puerto Vallarta-Mexico!
Puerto Vallarta is one of those dreamy places I would like to visit someday. I fell in love with this place after seeing pictures of Marieta Islands last year in a Magazine. Located at the edge of the sierra made range in Mexico, the cobblestone streets of this once-quiet pacific coast fishing village is now full of visitors during high season! I hear It’s also known for its beaches and babes 😛
“Sunbathing and sipping margaritas is just one of many ways to spend a vacation in Puerto Vallarta”- says Natasha and Tony, who chose this gorgeous place as their honeymoon destination. They both are settled in Chicago and wanted to have a warm yet pleasant honeymoon to escape the winter in US. Peurto Vallarta topped their list of places only because it was the perfect blend of Romance, relaxation and rejuvenation. I bet that’s exactly what everyone needs after the wedding.
Where did you guys stay ?
We stayed at the CasaMagna Marriott resort in Puerto Vallarta. The resort was really beautiful and view from the rooms were breathtaking with the beach view, down town and mountains in the backdrop. The resort was so beautiful that we never felt like leaving the resort and tried to utilize the resort amenities to the maximum. The continental breakfast buffet at the resort has a huge spread making your tummy feel satisfied after a sumptuous brunch.
The best experience was the OHTLI spa out there and a day spent over there is the best way to unwind. The resort has a private beach with sun beds and chairs that you can sit and relax on while enjoying the calmness and choppiness of sea waves. The most pleasant thing about our stay was the staff at the hotel; they were very courteous, friendly, responsive and forever joyful; I’ve never seen a more joyful staff than those at the resort!
What clothes to pack ?
Comfortable beach clothes, Swimwear, Summer wear bright-colored clothes. Don’t forget your sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen lotion too.
Must try Restaurant and food ?
Las Casitas restaurant is a must visit if you are here. Any Mexican food such as Tacos, Fajitas, Tortilla, Seafood delicacies !!
Tacos, I want Tacos right now !! 😀
Most fun experience in Puerto Vallarta ?
It Would be at Las Caletas beach when we had to kayak all the way to an island which was supported by a float in the sea. We had to use our hand power to row against the sea waves as well as use our brains to figure out how to tie the kayak to the float so that it does float away. It was not only fun but also a moment of achievement as a team to make it all the way there 😀 Also, Interacting with the local people was a good experience, as they are so kind and helpful.
Advice to others traveling !!
- Plan your stay well by using Google a lot (Trip advisor has some great articles on how to travel safe and cheap) and have a relaxing time out there.
- If you are not a teetotaller, do try out the local tequila.
- If you are looking for some adventure – you have a lot of activities on http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/; if you are looking for some private and relaxing time – I would suggest a private beach resort spa; if you are in touring – then make sure to go for some shopping with your high negotiation skills and get a feel of the local culture by interacting with the local folks.
