HONEYMOON GUIDE: BALI
Honeymoon is not only about travelling, but also a chance to spend and devote some quality time with your soul mate without any external influence. I feel It’s the only time where you and your partner will be free from all the tensions and you can pamper each other. That makes it very important to choose the right place for your honeymoon.
“Where are you going for your honeymoon”, that’s prolly the first thing I ask every newly married couple I meet 😛 . I love travelling and I’m always eager to know about a new place and their culture!
I know Both Mofiqa and Omer personally and they have been raving about their Bali expedition ever since they came back from their honeymoon. Bali being an exotic destination I knew I had to share their experience with our readers.
“Heaven on Earth” was the first thing Mof and Omer had to tell me about their honeymoon destination. For an Island honeymoon I think Bali has been a common choice after Maldives. Bali is Indonesia at its unadulterated and natural best. It is Renowned across the globe as the last paradise for good reason. Photos from this exotic destination has already filled me with dreams of that perfect holiday!
To keep the sharing going, I thought I’d sit down, have a chat with Mof and Omer over dinner and put together a post for those planning their honeymoon 😀
WHY BALI ?
Both of us were religiously searching through Google for hours and hours to find a perfect destination for our honeymoon weeks before our wedding. It was really difficult to decide on a place but we knew we wanted to spend our honeymoon in a calm yet fun place. We were contemplating between Bali and Greece at first, Greece gave us a lot of difficulty with visa procedures and we really didn’t want to run behind all that in the midst of wedding planning.( PRO TIP : ALWAYS PLAN YOUR HONEYMOON BEFORE HAND) Hence, we decided on BALI. We are glad we chose Bali over other places. Bali was more than a place. It was a complete package, where you had the best of two themes – the sandy beaches and the silent forests.
WHAT TO PACK ?
Light clothes in breathable fabric 😛
WHERE DID YOU STAY IN BALI ?
If you are looking for privacy and exclusivity then your quest ends at Ubud village resort. I think Our most favourite part of the honeymoon was the stay. The beautiful scenery from our private villa made us fall in love with Bali.
It was very different from the other places we have been to because it was more of a rice paddy resort, where they were actually doing irrigation like a normal farm. Our hotel was in the center and the view of the lush green during breakfasts in the morning was very relaxing. Nestled in the less explored reaches of Bali, a stay here will rejuvenate your senses! Outstanding service and mesmerizing sunsets complete your love affair with the Ubud village resort.
Public transport is non-existent in Bali. You have cabs or drivers as options for going around.
Highly recommend Mr.Layo (08123922882) as a personal guide.
LETS TALK ABOUT THEIR FOOD !! 😀
Food was cheap and yummy. If you are a foodie and like to experiment new dishes then I would highly recommend Nasi goreng and Bami goreng. Bebek Bangli is a must try restaurant! They have amazing duck dishes as well.
I hear Delicious local cuisine and great spa facilities might see you put on a pound or two of holiday weight by the time you are done here 😀
MUST VISIT PLACES ?
Breath taking view from Mt. Batur made us wanna stay longer in Bali.
White river rafting in Monkey forest is something we loved and wouldn’t mind doing it on a weekly basis. lol 😛
There are money changers everywhere, with 1 million rupiah equalling about $100 its very easy to feel like a millionaire. We would suggest taking a wallet that can fit in a lot of notes 😛
- Slow moving traffic, so please do plan your activities before hand.
- Choose village and forest resorts over the beach resorts because its more private and gives a very enjoyable holiday.
- Avoid the sunset dinner cruise, it’s just not worth it.
- Camera and loads of extra battery and memory card for those who love to shoot pictures!
Bali is definitely one place I would like to visit with my future husband 😛
M is celebrating her 1st anniversary in Australia and will be back soon. I will definitely have her write about her trip to Australia ! YAY to that !
UNTIL NEXT POST,
