Plan the perfect bachelorette ! :D
HOW TO PLAN A PERFECT BACHELORETTE !!
Right before the wedding when you have finished all the wedding chores you might have a day or two to sit, breathe and relive your last days as a single girl ! There’s nothing more that a bride will need than to be around people who keep her smiling till she ties the knot ( after that her husband will have to take over that job :p ). And this job, I must say, is made for the bride’s friends.
Every moment counts, especially when you are getting married.
This post is for the friends of the bride, we are going to help you plan the perfect pre-wedding/bachelorette party so that the bride can seize the last hours of her single life in the most beautiful and let’s not forget the most fun way !
1: ALWAYS ALWAYS GIVE THE BRIDE WHAT SHE WANTS !
The bride probably is already overwhelmed with what is happening around her, she does not need you trying new things that might only add to her anxiety. This does not mean you should not do fun new things BUT, make sure the bride is comfortable doing the things you plan and most importantly loves it !
2: DECIDE ON A DATE
Make sure that you decide on a date when the bride has a free day before the party. You could also ask the bride to decide on a date if you think she is really swamped with all her work because there is nothing worse than planning everything and having to cancel them :(. This is only when the bride is really busy, if not you could always pick a date that you think she might be free and this way you can keep the whole party a surprise !! The last thing a bride needs is a hangover, so steer clear of the night before the wedding.
3: KEEP IT A SURPRISE
Surprises are fun only when they are surprises, if the person gets even a slightest hint of what is happening it might not be as fun. So, make sure that the bride does not have the slightest idea of what is being planned for the bachelorette. DO NOT carry your planner when you go out with her, KEEP YOUR PHONE AWAY from her and mostly DO NOT attend calls regarding the party because you might think you could get away by making it very discreet but trust me it does not work that way ( the bride is a girl too 😛 ).
4: LET ‘EM EAT CAKE
Try and order fun cakes, you could ask the baker to do some fun fondant work that depict how the bride and groom met or a cake that incorporate colours from the wedding theme. Do not have images or designs that are too embarrassing ( like I saw a cake that had a naked couple fondant work and when the parents of the bride saw the pictures from the party later on, it was sure not a moment they were proud of, LOL )
Check out our post on SUGAR MONKEYS to find out where you can pick up some super duper cakes !
5: NOT WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW
Let the party not be all about drinking and dancing, play fun games. You could rent a karaoke machine and have the bride sing all her favourite songs, you could write letters to the bride and make her read them and guess who wrote the letters, have a photo booth or rent a Polaroid so that you could take pictures instantly, all of you could say something about the bride ( things that you love about her or how you met ), you could also have a small nail bar – the list is endless. The point is to reminisce, laugh, act goofy, and embarrass the bride a little. 😛 ( Do not forget to carry some funny props )!
6: WHO IS SHE ?
Do not invite EVERYONE the bride knows. Make sure you invite only the people who the bride wants at her party, the last thing we need is the bride to get upset. Prepare the guest list in advance so that you could inform the friends to save the date
7: THIS WAY
Deciding on the venue could be a little confusing. We think the best way is to rent a serviced apartment, that way you could set up the party way in advance and do it the way you want because sometimes renting a private room at a restaurant could be a little too expensive.
8: THEME IT UP !
Decide on a fun theme – like you could do a colour theme or dress up like characters from the favourite sitcom of the bride. Do not pick themes that would take a lot of time and effort to dress up. If not the clothes you can have a theme in the party decor, like if you choose to have a pink theme the drinks can be pink lemonade, balloons can be in pink and the brides sash can also be in pink.
9: SAY THANK YOU
You could take a moment to say thank you to everyone that came to the party ( you could also ask the bride to do this). Not something major but small return favours would do – like a personal note from the bride , the Polaroid shots that you said cheese for at the party with the girls or even fun badges that read ” crew of the bride” 😀 !
