Shruthy + Abhilash.
It’s the details in the wedding that have our hearts beating a bit faster for. Right from the glorious venue to the pallakku ; from the beautiful jewellery that’s antique yet modern to the pretty golden silk saree.
We have our gorgeous bride of the month, Shruthy sharing her story with us. Both Shruthy and Abhilash hail from Kerala and are currently settled in Muscat. So, lets hear it from the bride herself
Like any other girl, even I was excited about my wedding day since the dates were fixed. Luckily we got 6 months to prepare for the big day. It was the period of dreams ,hopes ,love and excitements. Our first and foremost urge was to get the best convention centre at Alleppey, Kerala and we were very fortunate to get it booked for the day we wished for.
Since I had a lot of time to prepare for the big day , I decided to start the beauty regime at the earliest and visited beauty parlour every month to get the essential bridal care. Going to the gym regularly gave me a remarkable result adding immense confidence in me.
We started our shopping much before to get an idea of new trends and more importantly what suits me. Since there were no event management crew involved, it was we ourselves who racked our brains for the innovations. The master brain included my father, mother & my brother ( after all it is our wedding! who else can make it more beautiful than us ?) While shopping went on one side, we decided to create a beautiful wedding invitation card and approached VALAVI & CO. at Cochin.
The wedding sari was from the exclusive Bridal collections from KALYAN Silks Cochin. As I have always dreamt of, I was blessed to wear a golden tissue and silk sari for my wedding. Second most important and difficult job was to find the right make up artist . I wanted someone who understands my taste and doesn’t make me look like a cake on the wedding day. I opted to have a trial makeup twice before my wedding, trying different lip shades, hair do’s, eye make-up etc. Finally we were satisfied with the very talented MUA RENJU & crew who made me look so good on my BIG day.
I was very particular about the ornaments to be worn as I never wanted to be the usual typical Malayalee Hindu bride necked up in gold. I wore selective 4 neck pieces which included an uncut diamond with ruby stone at the first. Rest were the antique pieces from AZVA collection. Since the other three were contemporary, we decided to wear a traditional “gajamala” as the last piece. The jumkas were customized along with my antique chains & bangles. Thanks to MALABAR gold and diamonds, for they added more beauty to my appearance with the jewellery I was adorned with.
Next was the stage decoration & we sat with ABM decorators a month prior to give our ideas. The wedding was a traditional function and I wanted the decor to be traditional yet contemporary. My brother came up with the idea of welcoming me in a “pallakku” & Mr. Shaji of ABM decorations beautifully arranged the palanquin with flowers and dim lights. Since the wedding was traditional, we followed the custom of serving “sadhya” for the guests & the catering was booked 2 months prior & was done by the veteran MOHAN NAMBOOTHIRI
Last but not the least, a special thanks to our wedding photographers JOSSTUDIO, whose work was brilliant as they captured all the beautiful moments very well which shall be remembered life long.
My advice to those planning their wedding : Plan everything right from DAY 1. Have a journal, plan meticulously, follow it & trust me it gives immense pleasure as we seek the final result. It is a great memory when we go through the wedding journal as well.
We wish Shruthy and Ablilash all the happiness in the world
UNTIL NEXT STORY,
