Quick Guide : Bridesmaid Dresses !!
Your wedding date is fixed, the venue is booked, makeup artist is set and now it’s time to focus on the details that will really make your wedding unique – BRIDESMAID DRESSES. Choosing bridesmaid dresses can be fun and confusing at the same time . Buying your own wedding dress can be stressful enough, so imagine how overwhelming it will be to find the perfect dress for your entire bridal party. From dealing with various personalities to different taste preferences, brides often find the process more difficult than they anticipate. Keep the following tips in mind when you pick bridesmaid dresses.
If you are going to have a themed wedding then you might want to buy your bridesmaid dresses accordingly. You definitely don’t want your bridal party to look out of the place. Take a look at your own dress. Think about your saree/lehenga/gown and overall wedding style. Is it classic, modern, or maybe vintage? Your bridesmaids’ dresses should fit the vibe.
Remember that no two bridesmaids are built the same or have the same taste. When choosing a dress, it’s important to keep the ladies’ taste/ body types in mind. Ask them in advance what they are comfortable with. Your plus size friend might not be comfortable wearing a sleeveless blouse/dress, and your pregnant BFF might need a dress with a little more room. ALWAYS ALWAYS Search for a style that flatters the different sizes and shapes of your bridesmaids. You definitely don’t want to cram a tall, voluptuous bridesmaid into the exact same style as a petite, skinny girl (totally unfair to either).
Think seriously about the colour. Don’t expect everyone to pull off a hot pink dress. If you’ve got a range of fair, medium, and dark skin tones, make sure the dress colour flatters all. Pastel hues might look great on girls with fair complexions, but can be too distracting on friends with a darker complexion. Dark/bright-coloured dresses like navy, hunter green, red, purple look great on almost every skin tone. These colours create an elegant and formal feel, plus they are simple and classic which means they can absolutely be worn again.
GET THEM INVOLVED :
Don’t be a control freak and try to do everything on your own. Be open to hearing your bridesmaids opinions, and make sure they’re comfortable. Decide who is going to bear the cost. Of course, discuss budget with your girls before hand and make sure your choices are within everyone’s budgets. And at the end of the day it is your wedding; it’s okay if not everyone is thrilled with your choices. If you have bridesmaids living in another state/country then choose a colour or a fabric and let each bridesmaid pick a style that will suit her.
Short dresses and sassy styles are hot trends for this season. A modern crop top embellished with stones and a simple long skirt is our favourite combination this season. Shades of purple/Pink are also popular.
