What I Wore To My Sister’s Wedding !!
As most of you know my elder sister Niya got married in December and since then a lot of my followers have been requesting me to run a wedding series of what I wore to the wedding and such details.
Honestly, I hardly got any time to get my outfits done because of the floods in Chennai. Everything was a last-minute hassle and I so wish it did not happen that way. We even had to cancel the engagement ceremony because of the continuous downpour.
I’m very picky when it comes to traditional attire. It’s very difficult for me to find something that I really like in a store and hence I prefer getting my traditional clothes custom-made. And since I’m very short, I always have to alter the length and it just spoils the original look. Plus I hate anything bling on me. So I knew I wanted all my outfits to be simple yet nice
Mehendi : Niya wanted me to wear something floral to the Mehendi function to go well with her blue floral skirt and I decided to go with the colour black !! Now If you know me personally, you would know how much I love black and how I hoard on black dresses and tops. I know Black is not something you opt for a colourful function like Mehendi but hey there is always a first time 😉

Wedding : For the wedding I wanted a traditional outfit with a modern touch to it. I wore a Kanjivaram silk saree and gave it a modern twist by opting for a very different blouse. I fell in love with the color as soon as I saw it on the rack in the store and didn’t even think further. I paired it up with an antique gold neckpiece.

Reception : To be very honest, I wish I had more time to plan out the reception outfit. Reception outfit was something I had kept for last-minute and I regret doing that. Because of the rains I was not able to get my fabrics on time. I had exactly 3 days to get this outfit done before leaving to Mumbai for the function and I didn’t even have a back up! ( Too much for being a wedding blogger, you think? :P) But thanks to Siddharth , from Hangar who somehow managed to make my outfit and deliver on time! Pweh.

My only advice is to get your outfits done atleast 2 weeks back because you never know what could come your way!
